A useful brief starts with a customer or team problem, rather than a list of plugins. Describe what happens now, what should happen instead, and who is affected.
Show the current journey
Include the relevant product or checkout URLs and explain the steps that lead to the problem. A short recording can help, but remove customer details first.
Identify the business rules
Shipping destinations, tax treatment, customer groups, and product variations can change the solution. Write down the rules that must remain true after the work.
Define a reviewable result
Choose a few representative scenarios, including an unsuccessful action. The brief should explain what a customer sees when a product is unavailable or a required field is missing.
Plan the release
Agree staging access, backups, and a release window. A small, well-defined change is easier to review and maintain than a collection of unrelated requests.
