SAFE SITE MIGRATION

Move your WordPress site with confidence

Moving a WordPress site is more than transferring files. Your content, database, forms, accounts, integrations, orders, and existing URLs all need to arrive in the right place and continue working.

We plan the move, test the destination, and check the important site journeys before and after launch so you can switch environments with less disruption.

Record the source and destination hosting, who controls DNS, whether email is hosted separately and which records keep changing. Orders, memberships and course progress need a plan for the interval between the first copy and the final switch.

Choose the release window and rollback decision in advance. A sample migration record should list the backup time, transferred data, important URLs, connected services, final synchronization and checks after DNS changes. Keep the old environment available for the agreed recovery period without letting both copies process live work.

Use the maintenance and restore worksheet to record recovery evidence. A website move does not automatically include a mailbox migration or a guarantee of unchanged search rankings.

Let’s plan your next step
THE MIGRATION PROCESS

A controlled move from preparation to launch

  1. Assess and plan

Review source and destination environments, verify the backup approach, and agree data transfer, downtime, and rollback requirements.

  2. Rehearse the move

Transfer a staging copy and check representative pages, accounts, forms, and transactions before scheduling the live switch.

  3. Switch and verify

Complete the agreed final data transfer, switch the site, and verify HTTPS, URLs, email connections, and critical user journeys.

Questions & answers

Your questions, answered

Can you guarantee a migration with no downtime?

We plan to minimize disruption, but the release method depends on the hosting, DNS, and how frequently your data changes. An active store may need a short maintenance window or a final data sync. We agree the expected impact and recovery approach before scheduling the switch.

Will moving the site affect business email?

Website hosting and business email can use different services. We record the existing mail setup and preserve its DNS records unless an email migration is explicitly included. The destination site still needs its own SMTP and form-delivery checks after the move.

How do you protect search traffic during a migration?

We preserve existing URLs where possible, map necessary redirects, and check canonical tags, indexing settings, internal links, and the sitemap. After launch, Search Console can reveal crawl or indexing issues. A careful migration reduces avoidable disruption, but it cannot guarantee unchanged rankings.
