A speed score can point to a problem, but it does not explain the full experience. A useful review connects technical measurements to the pages visitors rely on.

Choose representative pages

Include the homepage, a content page, a product or course page, and a transactional journey. Logged-in behavior can differ from a cached public page.

Keep comparisons consistent

Use the same location, device profile, and page content when comparing results. Repeat checks so a single unusually fast or slow request does not become the conclusion.

Find the cause before adding tools

Large media, heavy frontend scripts, expensive queries, and third-party services each need different treatment. An additional optimization plugin can create conflicts if its role overlaps with existing tools.

Check behavior after changes

Verify navigation, forms, cart, checkout, and account pages. A faster page is only useful when it still does the job visitors need.
